Blogging Challenge Part 1 – Day 30
This is one of Kwame Ture (Formerly Stokely Carmichael’s great conversations).
I like to create poetry, music, and utilize art as a means of expressing a point of view. The point of view is my own, and I am thankful for what it has become and what is it becoming. I often will write because I research alot, and this is a means of me recording that of which has been researched.
While thinking about my ancestors and the history of my people, there is one of many individuals of whom I would like to pay some respects to and bring awareness to. Elder Kwame Ture (rest in power) is a living example of discipline, focus, and love for his Afrakan people.
After listening to the interview above (if you started at 7 minute mark you will see what I am going to be speaking about now) you can see that Kwame Ture was well-thought, intelligent, and communicative. As an orator and Afrakan Freedom Fighter, he allowed his livelihood to be gathered towards organizing and liberating his fellow people. Kwame Ture, born (Stokely Carmichael) was a man who did not allow fear within his heart over his efforts of protecting and providing for his people.
Why is he significant?

SNCC leader, Honorary Black Panther, All African People’s Revolutionary Party Forerunner, a friend and beloved one of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., associate of Huey P Newton and Angela Davis; this man’s involvement and struggle towards the liberation of his people is remarkable to say the least.
But I will let you hear the stories told from him, there is a lot of material about Baba Kwame, and I offer libation to our mighty ancestor. I in my current state am nothing like him, however I aspire to be the greatest version of me to honour beings like him.
His past, his present, his future was all for what he felt was right.
“The harder the conflict the more glorious the triumph, what is obtained to cheaply, is esteemed to lightly, tis dearness only that gives everything it’s value. We love the man who can smile in trouble, gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. Tis the business of little minds to shrink but he whose heart is firm and whose conscious approves his conduct shall pursue his principles unto death.” – Thomas Paine
